Taiwanese investigators to finish probe today

MANILA, May 30 — Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard will again be placed under interrogation by Taiwanese investigators on Thursday in connection with the May 9 Balintang Channel incident.

The closed-door investigation was not completed Wednesday night and will resume at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Taiwanese probers ended their interview of the PCG personnel at passed 10 p.m. Wednesday, hence, it will resume at the headquarters of the National Bureau of Investigation on Thursday.

During the investigation, the PCG personnel will be assisted by their legal counsels.

Taiwan Chief Prosecutor Lin Yen Liang earlier said they will try to finish their investigation until Thursday.

He said they only have two days more to interview the personnel of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and PCG involved in the incident. (PNA)
