Lucena City gears up for Pasayahan 2013

LUCENA CITY, Quezon, May 22 -– The Pasayahan Sa Lucena 2013 executive committee has announced the events featured in the four-day festivities after a temporary setback in the scheduling of activities due to the mid-term elections.
Archie Ilagan, Pasayahan 2013 chairman, disclosed the organizing committee’s exhaustive preparations and double time efforts after the delay.
Highlighting the festive Pasayahan (merry-making) celebrations are the Art Contest, On the Spot Painting Competitions, Mix Media and Photography on Saturday (May 25).
The Saturday events will also feature the “Kusinerong Lucenahin” or PSL Master Chef Edition and the Battle of the Bands.
On Sunday (May 26), Pasayahan will host the Bike for Charity and the Mr. and Miss Lucena beauty pageant.
The senior citizen women and female elder candidates will vie for the “Gandang Lola” beauty title on May 27.
In view of the Grand Parade set on May 28, the Lucena City PNP called on motorists and the riding public on the traffic re-routing plan to be implemented for parade routes.
Lucena City Chief of Police Rae Allen Co also advised motorists and vehicle owners that the ML Tagarao, Merchan and Gomez roads are declared no-parking zones for the parade.
He also enjoined Lucenahins, tourists and visitors to clear the routes for the smooth flow of the participating contingents in convergence and assembly areas.
The city government also expects traffic volume to increase during the night market and in other extravaganzas. (PNA)
