Salceda orders rescue of Syrian national in Mt. Mayon

LEGAZPI CITY, May 21 — A Syrian national, Mark Yuchagaev, has been reportedly stuck along the slope of restive Mt. Mayon, 1,700 feet above sea level.

Yuchagaev cannot move and was asking for help, said Albay Governor Joey Salceda.

Upon receiving the report, Salceda immediately ordered an emergency rescue operation.

A certain Jerry Bilala of Busay, Daraga, Albay reported to the Daraga Fire Station asking assistance for the Russian national.

Albay Public Safety Emergency Management office (APSEMO) is now with the Red Cross team pinpointing the exact location of the missing climber.

As per information, a parallel coordination meeting is being done by Regional Disaster Risk Management Office thru Dirertor Raffy Alejandro. (PNA)
