MANILA, May 21 — The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday dismissed the new picture showing fugitive former police Senior Supt. Cesar Mancao II.

Mancao earlier escaped from the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) allegedly for fear of his life.

Justice Secretary Leila M. De Lima, in an ambush interview on Tuesday, said the picture of Mancao which is now being proliferated in the social networking sites is not a "priority of the agency" because it was merely a "Photoshop."

De Lima said it is up to the NBI to vigorously pursue the extensive manhunt operation against the "fugitive from justice" who is wanted in the Dacer-Corbito double murder case.

The latest picture of Mancao shows him holding a newspaper and the background was outside the DOJ headquarters in Manila.

The earlier picture of Mancao was allegedly taken in a fast food chain. Both photographs were believed digitally altered. (PNA)
