(Isabela) Board of canvassers proclaims poll winners in Isabela

ILAGAN CITY, Isabela, May 14 — A few hours after the automated election results were canvassed, municipal and city board of canvassers in Isabela proclaimed the winning candidates Tuesday.

In Reina Mercedes town, the board of canvassers proclaimed the winners at 4 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, including reelectionist mayor Anthony Respicio who garnered a total of 7,988 votes, and incumbent vice mayor Ma. Lourdes Respicio-Saguban who got a total vote of 7,518.

The Sangguniang Bayan members elected are Julio Cutaran, Heracleo Respicio, Restituto Baua, Resty Garcia, Primitivo Baua Jr, Joy Esteban, Antonio Marfil and Honorata Agas.

Five of the candidates who won the election are incumbent Sangguniang Bayan members in the said town while three of them are neophytes in politics. The reelected SB members are Heracleo Respicio, Promitivo Baua Jr., Joy Esteban, Resty Garcia, Restituto Baua and the new members are Julio Cutaran, Antonio Marfil and Hoorata Agas.

In Jones, Isabela, incumbent vice mayor Leticia Sebastian won the mayoralty race with a total votes of 9,739 against Evelyn Raspado, the wife of incumbent mayor Florante Raspado who garnered 8,855 votes. The incumbent mayor won the vice mayoralty race with total votes of 11,398.

The elected Sangguniang Bayan members are Ronaldo Lucas, Melanie Uy, Suzette Sebastian, Julius Raspado, John Sabiniano, Gaylord gumpal, Jadiel Pandongan and Villamor Bangloy.

In Ramon, Isabela, incumbent mayor Wilfredo Tabag won with 10,889 total votes garnered over his political rival Derrick Vizcarra who got 9,316 votes.

For vice mayor, Marlene Obedoza won as vice mayor with total votes of 7,058 against Dennis dela Cruz with 4,258 votes.

The elected Sangguniang Bayan members in the town are Felisa Dalupang, Nestor Banhan, Renato Limongco, Gregorrio Honorio, Fernado Soriano Jr, Marlon Brando Tutaan, Tristan Padingo and Juanito Pua.

In Alicia, Isabela, the incumbent vice mayor, Ian Paul Dy of the province’s ruling Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) defeated the incumbent mayor Ma. Cecilia Claire Reyes while former board member Atty. Joel Amos Alejandro of NPC won the vice mayoralty race against Reyes’ running mate Mila Paguila.

In Luna, Isabela, Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Jaime Atayde won as mayor with accumulated votes of 6, 036 together with his running mate incumbent vice mayor Andy Domingo.

In Cauayan city, the son of late mayor Benjamin G. Dy together with incumbent city vice mayor Bartolome were proclaimed winner by the city board of canvassers as the two are unopposed candidates.

In Ilagan City, the city board of canvassers proclaimed incumbent Ilagan city mayor Jose Marie L. Diaz as reelected. Diaz is unopposed while his running mate incumbent vice mayor Vedasto Villanueva also won the political race against former board member Noel Binag of Liberal Party. (PNA)
