Elections in Eastern Mindanao Command generally peaceful

MANILA, May 14 – The Eastern Mindanao Command, which is based in Panacan, Davao City, on Tuesday announced the conduct of the May 13-midterm elections in its area of jurisdiction is generally peaceful.

Jointly, the Eastern Mindanao Command and the Philippine National Police (PNP), deputize by the Commission on Elections to secure the electoral process, faithfully performed their tasks preventing untoward incidents.

One such instance was during May 13 itself when Eastern Mindanao Command troopers apprehended 21 civilians for carrying firearms in Malita, Davao Del Sur.

Some minor glitches occurred such as malfunctioning PCOS machines.

However in Compostela Valley, some PCOS were misrouted resulting in the delay in the conduct of the election.

There were about 20 election related violent incidents, strikingly is the killing of mayoral candidate aide in Pantukan. (PNA)
