CAVITE, May 14 -– The Commission on Election (Comelec) board of canvassers is extending the canvassing in Cavite province until Wednesday morning.

Canvassing officers are still waiting for the election returns from a city and five municipalities in the province.

The Cavite Board of Canvassers decided to move the proclamation of the provincial race winners on Wednesday awaiting results from Dasmarinas City, Alfonso, Silang, Rosario and General Mariano Alvarez.

The municipality of Tanza earlier cancelled the transmission of election returns due to the brawl between two rival political parties.

Meanwhile, Ayong Maliksi has conceded to opponent Jonvic Remulla in the gubernatorial race in his letter sent to the Comelec on Tuesday afternoon. (PNA)
