MANILA, May 12 — All the senatorial candidates of the ruling coalition Team PNoy are ready to join the more than 50 million Filipino voters who will go out on Monday to cast their votes for 12 senators, partylists and local candidates.

The 12 Team PNoy senatorial bets spent the whole Sunday attending mass with their respective families after ending the grueling 90-day campaign period which ended midnight Saturday.

Endorsed by no less than President Benigno Aquino III, the Team PNoy’s 12 aspirants to the Senate include Sonny Angara, Bam Aquino, Alan Peter Cayetano, Francis Escudero, Ramon Magsaysay Jr., Jamby Madrigal, Risa Hontiveros, Antonio Trillanes IV, Cynthia Villar, Grace Poe, Loren Legarda and Koko Pimentel.

Legarda, a reelectionist of Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), is set to vote at 11:40 a.m. at precinct 0628A in Barangay Potrero, Malabon while Poe, a former chairperson of the Movies and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), will vote at 8a.m. at Sta. Lucia Elementary School in Brgy. Sta. Lucia in San Juan.

Reelectionist Escudero will have to travel to his home province in Sorsogon to cast his vote at Buhatan Elementary School and Villar, a candidate of Nacionalista Party (NP) will vote at Las Pinas Science High School at BR Resort, Las Pinas City.

Pimentel, also a reelectionist adopted by the Team PNoy, will cast his vote at the Central School in Cagayan de Oro City while former senator Magsaysay will go to De La Salle Zobel in Ayala, Alabang to cast his vote and Angara will cast his vote at Suklayin Elementary School in Baler, Aurora.

Former senator Madrigal is scheduled to vote at 9a.m. at precinct 5249A of St. Paul in Quezon City while NP’s Cayetano at Sta. Teresa Elementary School in Bagumbayan in Taguig City and Trillanes, also of NP, is set to cast his vote at precinct 0687B of the Holy Infant Montessori Center in Barangay 169, Caloocan City.

Aquino, a candidate of the Liberal Party, will vote at 9:30a.m. at precinct No. 0225A of Concepcion South Central School in Tarlac.

Hontiveros, who finished 13th in the 2010 senatorial election, will vote at 7:30a.m. at the North Susana Village Clubhouse in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.

The Team PNoy is a coalition of the ruling LP, NPC of Eduardo Danding Cojuangco, NP of Senator Manny Villar and Akbayan of Hontiveros.

Meanwhile, Team PNoy campaign manager Franklin Drilon assured that the ruling coalition will not resort to any kind of cheating to achieve their 12-0 target even as he called on the electorate to safeguards their votes.

“Let us safeguard our votes against cheaters and poll manipulators, whether they will come from the opposing party or the ruling party,” Drilon said.

Drilon branded as “baseless and unfounded” the statement of Vice President Jejomar Binay that operators are out to rig the elections in favor of the administration coalition.

“This administration never tolerates fraud and cheating. Let us not forget that the cleansing of voters’ list in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao was made possible during the Aquino watch,” Drilon said.

A total of 33 candidates vie for the top 12 slots at stake in the senatorial race. (PNA)
