Election results from Cebu towns come in trickles, poll exec says

CEBU CITY, May 13 — Transmission of election results from the towns and cities in Cebu province came in trickles, prompting the provincial board of election canvassers (BOC) to declare a recess.

The Cebu BOC is composed of Cebu Provincial Election supervisor Eddie Aba as chair, and Cebu Province Division Supt. Dr. Arden Monisit and Cebu Provincial Chief Prosecutor Cebu Provincial Prosecutor Pepita Jane Petralba as members.

Aba convened the BOC at 7 p.m. after the polls closed, but the board decided to declare a recess because there was still no “substantial” number of elections returns from the town and cities.

Election officials said many precincts in the province are in mountain barangays where there are no signals from telecommunications providers.

The BOC will reconvene at 10 p.m. (PNA)
