(Election) PCOS tech dies of heart failure while doing job in Capiz

ILOILO CITY, May 13 — A teacher assigned to serve as a precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machine technician in Brgy. Dulangan, Pilar, Capiz died Monday due to an apparent heart failure while doing his duties.
Police Insp. Errol Guatsi, chief of Pilar Police Station, identified the fatality as Albert Amoroso, 27, a teacher at the Montiflor Elementary School in the municipality.
According to reports, Amoroso was busy testing and sealing the PCOS machine when he suddenly collapsed on his knees.
Members of the Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) and on-duty police officers rushed the PCOS technician to the nearby Bailan District Hospital where attending physicians declared him dead on arrival.
The provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) of Capiz immediately designated a substitute for the fallen Amoroso to finish the job. (PNA)
