ILOILO CITY, May 9 — Incumbent city Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog issued a fearless forecast of a 15-0 win of their group under Team PNoy of the administration against their opponents under the United Alliance Alliance (UNA).
The city mayor said the latest credible survey showed his margin of 60 percent, translated as more than 80,000 votes, over his opponent of only less than 40 percent.
Mabilog said that working for a team of good performance, the 15-0 landslide win will be delivered by reelectionist congressman Jerry P. Treñas, reelectionist city mayor Mabilog and reelectionist vice mayor Jose Espinosa III and the 12 candidates for city councilor nameley reelectionists Nielex Tupas, Joshua Alim, Lyndon Acap, Rodel Fullon Agado, Jason Gonzales, Plaridel Nava, RLeone Gerochi and fresh candidates Jay Treñas, Love-love Baronda and Liceil Zulueta, and comebacking Armand Parcon and Eduardo Peñaredondo.
Mabilog said the electorates of this southern city already knew who to vote for several days ago after seeing and hearing both sides in political rallies and caucuses. He said the Ilonggos are intelligent voters who are able to measure the candidates' performances and character.
Similarly, Team PNoy senatorial candidates will win 10-2, Mabilog said.
The city mayor also challenged political foes "to put Iloilo City interest over and personal interest" and to stop political gimmicks just to gain popularity.
Regarding his own safety, Mabilog said that "whatever happens to me, it will reflect to the entire image of the city. I love the city more than myself," he added. (PNA)
