Opposition cry of fraud understandable -– Team PNoy spokesman

MANILA, May 6 — With barely a week to go before the May 13 polls, Team PNoy spokesman Ben Evardone said the administration coalition finds it understandable that the opposition is starting to cry fraud in anticipation of its impending defeat in the senatorial race.

“The claim of massive fraud is always the court of last resort of losing candidates,” the Eastern Samar representative said on Monday.

Evardone said he is not surprised at all that the United Nationalist Alliance is using the fraud angle “now that judgment day approaches.”

“UNA is in a state of denial. It is blaming everyone except itself for its imminent massacre at the polls,” he pointed out.

Evardone was reacting to opposition claims that the administration coalition is preparing the stage for massive fraud in power crisis-stricken Mindanao to achieve its goal of a 12-0 sweep in the senatorial race.

Critics have also slammed at Team PNoy for allegedly conditioning the mind of voters through the distribution of what they claim as bogus poll survey results, saying they are part of “foul political operations.”

“This is a desperate act of a party that knows it would lose big on May 13 because Team PNoy overwhelmingly leads in the two most respected surveys on the preferred senatorial candidates of Filipino voters,” Evardone explained. “And the poll surveys have never been wrong in predicting the outcome of senatorial races.”

Both the Social Weather Stations (SWS) and Pulse Asia have released poll results showing Team PNoy dominating UNA, 9-3, in their last two pre-election surveys.

The Pulse Asia poll conducted April 20-22 even showed that all but one of President Aquino’s handpicked candidates have a strong chance of making it to the winners’ circle against only five for the opposition. (PNA)
