MANILA, May 2 – In line with the government's anti-counterfeiting campaign, the National Bureau of Investigation-Intellectual Property Rights Division (NBI-IPRD) seized 10,830 pieces of fake "Olay" products worth P6.5 million during a recent operation in Manila.

Raided were the retail outlet and three stockrooms of "Double J Universal Ventures Co," also known as the "JJ Jewelry" reportedly owned by Jacky Tan.

These establishments are located on C. M. Recto and Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Tan's businesses were raided by the NBI-IPRD following a complaint filed by Olay's intellectual property rights representatives in the Philippines.

The latter then obtained the search warrants from Acting Presiding Judge Lyliha L. Abella-Aquino of Manila Regional Trial Court, Branch 24.

Charges of Trademark Infringement under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines or Republic Act 8293 are being prepared against the owner of the raided establishments. (PNA)
