VICTORIA, Tarlac, May 1 — President Benigno S. Aquino III said on Wednesday the government is speeding up infrastructure and road projects to promote tourism and accelerate the agriculture and trade industries in the province of Tarlac.

In his speech during his meeting with local leaders and the community at the Bulwagang Kalayaan Covered Court, Barangay San Fernando, here on Wednesday, the Chief Executive said several roads and bridges that are being constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are expected to be completed before he steps down from office in 2016.

The completion of infrastructure and road projects will draw more tourists in the province and boost the agriculture and commercial industries of Tarlac and nearby provinces.

It's more fun in the Philippines.'

He said that the government remains committed to strengthening the country's fiscal position, intensify investments through social services, education, and health among others.

The President said the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Electrification Administration (NEA), are working together in carrying out the electrification project in the entire country, including Tarlac.

The President thanked the people and his fellow kababayan in Tarlac who affirmed his administration’s commitment to tread the straight and righteous path in transforming the Philippines into a progressive nation.

(PNA)
