LUCENA CITY, April 29 — The administration party’s senatorial slate got a big boost Monday as the people of Quezon province came out in force to show their support to the Team PNoy as well as local Liberal Party (LP) candidates during a big rally held at the Alcala Sports Complex at the Quezon National High School in Lucena City.

The crowd was so large that more than a thousand people were not able to enter the sprawling complex because it was already filled beyond capacity.

Lucena City was the second of two Quezon localities – the other was Lucban – which President Benigno S. Aquino III and the Team PNoy visited Monday.

Senator Franklin Drilon thanked the huge crowd, estimated at more than 7,000 inside the stadium, for supporting President Aquino and his candidates even as he asked them for their help in campaigning for the ruling party slate.

“We know that majority of the voters are not here in this event so we would like to appeal to all of you to ask your families and friends to support the reforms and changes made by the Aquino administration by voting for Team PNoy and our local LP candidates,” he said to the teeming mass of supporters.

“Please help our President and help Team PNoy. Your votes for the administration are important not just for the future of Lucena and the province of Quezon, but also for the future of our country,” Drilon said.

Meanwhile, there were five Team PNoy candidates present during the said rally, more than the usual two or three members usually attending sorties of late.

They were Sonny Angara, Risa Hontiveros, Jamby Madrigal, Ramon Magsaysay Jr. and Koko Pimentel.

On the other hand, Loren Legarda was represented by her son Leandro while Bam Aquino was represented by wife, Timmy. (PNA)
