DAVAO CITY, April 24 — Both senatorial candidates Francis "Chiz" Escudero of Team Pnoy and Jack Enrile of United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) expressed their gratitude to Davaoeños for putting them on top of a survey conducted by the University Research Council of the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU).

Escudero emerged as number 1 while Enrile ranked number 5 in a survey using the moodle online technology and face-to-face interviews.

The sample population consisted of AdDu students in the college, law and high schools (which was optional), faculty from all units and non-teaching personnel comprising both agency-based and Ateneo regular personnel.

In the latest April survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS), Escudero ranked fifth while Enrile got the 12th spot.

Both of them were here in Davao City on Wednesday to woo the votes of Davaoeños and to personally greet Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Jesus Christ Is Lord, who is celebrating his birthday on Thursday.

“I am happy that the people of Davao City believes in me. But still that is a survey and we have to on work more,” Escudero told the media in a press conference Wednesday morning at the Probinsya Restaurant along Victoria Plaza car park.

For his part, Enrile said that he was very pleased of the trust and confidence given to him by Davaoeños.

“Nagpapasalamat ako dahil naniniwala kayo sa kakayahan ko para maluklok bilang senador (I am thankful that you have the trust on my capabilities to be elected as a senator),” he said in an ambush interview at the Davao International Airport Wednesday afternoon.

The senatoriables who made it to the "Magic 12" based on the moodle result were: Escudero, Allan Peter Cayetano, Miguel Zubiri, Loren Legarda, Enrile, Grace Poe, Bam Aquino, Riza Hontiveros, Koko Pimentel, Richard Gordon, Nancy Binay, and Antonio Trillanes. (PNA)
