DAGUPAN CITY, April 8 — The Commission on Elections (Comelec)here has scheduled the removal of campaign posters all over Dagupan but is keeping the date a secret not to alert candidates and their supporters.

City Election Officer Ericson Organisa said his office already notified the candidates to remove their posters but not even one heeded the notice.

After the notice, the Commission can now remove all these posters, he added.

The city election office noted since the campaign started, there is wanton violation of the campaign rules by candidates and their supporters.

That was the second notice sent by the Comelec to the candidates, the first was before the campaign formally started.

Organisa said that they will surprise the candidates, that is why they are not announcing when they will remove their campaign materials, posted on lamp posts and even trees.

There are candidates in Dagupan who also painted their names on fences and even on concrete river embankments.

The city election office vowed to document all the violations preparatory to the filing of election offense cases against the violators. (PNA)
