MANILA, April 8 — A group of Catholic organizations is out to prove there is Catholic vote.

With this, the White Vote Movement led by El Shaddai leader Bro. Mike Velarde asked the support of the faithful to support the senatorial candidates they are set to endorse in the May 13 midterm polls.

“We will prove that there’s really a Catholic vote,” he said during the launching of the Catholic movement in Paranaque City Monday.

He also encouraged the public, particularly their members and supporters to vote for those candidates that are pro-family and pro-life.

“It’s time to let the public know there’s such a vote that’s coming this election and in the future elections,” he added.

Velarde, spokesman of the group, is confident that they would be able to get enough votes for the candidates they will be support in May.

"It will depend on the response but as far as we are concerned the response from our own organization is quite favorable. The number of groups (joining us) is still increasing. We are getting together in our parishes—I was told there are 3,000 parishes all over the Philippines,” he added.

Aside from the El Shaddai group, the coalition is also composed of Couples for Christ–Foundation for Family and Life, Catholic Women’s League, Focolare Movement, Bukas Loob sa Diyos and others. (PNA)
