MANILA, April 4 – The ruling coalition Team PNoy is pleased with the latest Pulse Asia survey showing nine of its candidates occupying the top 12 senatorial seats.
”We are pleased with the result that nine of our candidates are in the winning column for the past one month,” Team PNoy team manager Senator Franklin Drilon said in a press briefing Thursday at the Team PNoy headquarters in Makati City.
Drilon said the coalition of Liberal Party, Nacionalista Party, Nationalist People’s Coalition and Akbayan will continue to work “so that we will have more candidates get into the winning column.”
”It is an indication of the trust and confidence of the people in the President and his team. This team is personally handpicked by the President,” Drilon said.
The nine Team PNoy bets in the winning circle include: Loren Legarda, Francis Escudero, Alan Peter Cayetano, Aquilino Pimentel III, Cynthia Villar, Bam Aquino, Antonio Trillanes and Sonny Angara.
Others outside the top 12 include Jun Magasaysay, Jamby Madrigal and Risa Hontiveros who are even out of the top 15 identified by Pulse Asia as candidates with statistical chance of winning if the elections were held last March 16 to 20.
”Maybe we have to sharpen their messaging so it can be more focused on the platform that they stand on,” Drilon said on their three candidates who are occupying 16 to 18 places.
Villar said she is very happy with the latest results of the Pulse Asia survey.
”I would like to thank the people for their continued support for my senatorial bid. The campaign is on its last month, my priority is to reach out to even more Filipinos all over the country and interact with them,” Villar said.
Legarda, consistent No. 1 senatorial candidate in the surveys, vowed to work even harder for the people as she thanked them for their continued trust.
”I would like to thank the people for their continued support. I would like to assure them that I will continue to serve faithfully,” Legarda said.
Pimentel said his good showing in the latest survey was the result of his hardwork and dedication to fight graft and corruption as well as crusade against election cheaters.
”I’m in a very good mood because of the latest survey that showed a very good result for me and for I have been doing has been effective and the people appreciate what I have done in the short period of time that I have been senator,” Pimentel said.
Completing the top 15 candidates with statistical chance of winning include: United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) candidates Nancy Binay, JV Ejercito, Gregorio Honasan, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Jack Enrile and Richard Gordon. (PNA)
