DAGUPAN CITY, April 4 –A five-hour motorcade of local candidates endorsed by President Benigno Aquino III in Dagupan City was described here as a "certified hit".
The motorcade, held Wednesday afternoon starting at 2:00 p.m., was spearheaded by re-electionist Congresswoman Gina de Venecia, mayoralty candidate Belen Fernandez and vice mayoralty candidate Michael Fernandez.
The trio formed the powerful Gina-Belen-Michael team opposed to the Lim-Lim-Lim team.
Other members of the Gina-Belen-Team who joined the motorcade were reelectionist councilors Maybelyn Fernandez, Karlos Reyna, Alfie Fernandez and Jeslito Seen; former councilors Jose Netu Tamayo and Alfredo Quinto, Marilyn Manaois Reyna, Saysi Samson and Marvin Fabia.
Traffic stood still for minutes in a few streets of Dagupan but people were nevertheless happy seeing the Liberal Party candidates holding the motorcade.
The motorcade, which kicked off in Bonuan Binloc, home barangay of Congresswoman de Venecia, signaled the campaign of the Team for Change personally endorsed by President Aquino when he came to Dagupan March 15 this year.
The motorcade, which lasted until past 7:00 p.m. ,covered all the barangays of Dagupan except the island villages.
After a late dinner at the residence of Rep. de Venecia and former Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., the candidates proceeded to the Bonuan Binloc gymnasium where they held their first campaign rally.
When President Aquino was in Dagupan March 15, he said that Dagupan will zoom faster economically if Belen Fernandez is elected mayor of Dagupan. (PNA)
