DPWH to conduct road asphalt overlay in Metro Manila

MANILA, March 27 -– The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority advised motorists the Dept. of Public Works and Highways will be undertaking repair and improvement works along various roads in Metro Manila starting Maundy Thursday.
MMDA Assistant General Manager for Operations Atty. Emerson Carlos said that the DPWH has scheduled concrete reblocking projects and roads repairs starting Maundy Thursday (March 28) – Easter Sunday (March 31).
On the list are North Avenue crossing Mindanao Avenue (Center Lane), Quezon City; EDSA from Cloverleaf to Oliveros Street (Southbound 5th Lane), Quezon City;
EDSA from Ortigas Avenue to end of underpass (southbound), Mandaluyong City; Ortigas Avenue from Connecticut to Notre Dame Street, Mandaluyong City; Along EDSA from 7-eleven near Estrella footbridge to Guadalupe footbridge, Makati City;
EDSA from Asuncion Street to MCU hospital (Northbound lane), Caloocan City; and EDSA from Benin street to Urbano Plato Street, Caloocan City.
Carlos said the portions of Nicanor Reyes Street from C.M. Recto to España; San Marcelino Steet; Nicanor Reyes street from España to C.M. Recto both in Sampaloc, Manila will also undergo road repair from March 28 until 5 a.m. of April 1.
Carlos said road works include sidewalk repairs, drainage system improvements, asphalt overlays, pothole patching, among others.
He also advised motorists to use alternate routes as heavy traffic is expected at the said areas.
DPWH said the repairs are in addition to the 40 ongoing repairs and re-blocking works along various thoroughfares that the department is currently doing. (PNA)
