MANILA, March 25 – Despite a two-notch drop from last month’s survey, Team PNoy senatorial candidate Cynthia Villar on Monday thanked the people for their vote of confidence based on the latest Social Weather Station survey.

Based on the SWS survey conducted March 15-17, Villar remains in the top 12 list although she skidded from February’s fourth place to sixth place with 47 percent.

”I am grateful and humbled by the continued vote of confidence of the people in my senatorial candidacy. These encouraging results will fuel me to help Filipinos even more,” Villar said in a press statement.

Villar, wife of outgoing senator Manny Villar, promised to reach out to more people as the 90-day election campaign entered its halfway mark before the May 13 mid-term elections.

”As the campaign period progresses, I would like to reach out to more people – not only geographically, but also across all sectors of the society. I would continue my dialogue and interactions with as many people as possible to better understand their problems, which will enable me to help them,” she said.

Sen. Loren Legarda continued to get best voters’ approval, gaining 59 percent on top of the ladder but her fellow Team PNoy re-electionist Sen. Francis Escudero skidded from second place to fourth with 48 percent.

It was the first time Escudero got lower rating in the surveys as the lawmaker from Bicol dominated the headlines with his showbiz girlfriend Heart Evangelista.

Completing the top 12 in the SWS surveys are: re-electionist Alan Peter Cayetano of Team PNoy, JV Ejercito and Nancy Binay of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), Aquilino Pimentel III and Antonio Trillanes IV (Team PNoy), Gregorio Honasan II (UNA), and Bam Aquino, Grace Poe and Sonny Angara of Team PNoy.
