PSME to hold 2013 National Music Education Seminar-Workshop

MANILA Mar. 9 –The Philippine Society for Music Education (PSME) will hold the 2013 National Music Education Seminar-Workshop on April 23 to 25 at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Conservatory of Music, España, Manila.

The event has two themes, namely "Teaching and Music Making for Classroom Music Teachers" and "Perspective on Music and Music Education from the Disciplines of Sociology, Psychology and Anthropology".

It aims to update the musical and pedagogical competencies of classroom music teaching in the elementary and high school levels.

Private and Public elementary and secondary school teachers are encouraged to join.

On the other hand, The University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication (UP CMC) will conduct the Seminar-Workshop on Media Literacy on April 24 to 26 at UP Dilliman, Quezon City.

Themed, "Media Literacy: Responding to DepEd’s K to 12 Basic Education Program," the seminar aims to equip teachers with knowledge about the different forms of media, as well as the various issues which affect them.

Public and private schools teachers are encouraged to join to participate in the activity. (PNA)
