6 killed in North Cotabato multiple crash

PIKIT, North Cotabato, Mar. 1 — A multi-vehicle collision here on early Friday has claimed the lives of six persons, including two pregnant women. Fourteen others were also hurt.
Pikit police chief Sr. Insp. Jordaine Maribojo said three vehicles were involved in the accident that happened at about 12:10 a.m. Friday in the national highway in borders of Barangays Takepan and Nalapaan.
Involved in the pile-up were Toyota Hi-Ace Van heading for Davao City, a Lawin jeep loaded with passengers and a military six-by-six truck that was following the Lawin jeepney.
Maribojo said the passenger van collided head-on with the Lawin Jeep and the Army truck rammed on the passenger jeepney that suddenly stopped due to the collision.
Maribojo said four of the fatalities died on the spot, including two pregnant women, while others were declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Maribojo identified the fatalities as Mohammad Samil Ali, Bacuna Musa, Sulaiman Macaindig, two unidentified pregnant women and Judy Uy, a student.
Wounded were pregnant Tintin Castillon, 30, Randy Corpuz, 33, Marvin Latoza, 20, Minang Norhaime, 18, 1-year-old Sarisa Landasan, pregnant Salman Landasan, Marma Landasan, Lumanda Sadam, 21, Chanadz Manampan, 16, Ibrahim Dimalungan, 20, Wanita Batawan, Alma Rose Demasiado, Lolita Atang, Naphy Nagnal,28, Col. Michael Barrientos who are all undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Pikit and Midsayap, both in North Cotabato. (PNA)
