MANILA, Feb. 28 — Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 26 Presiding Judge Silvino Panfilo, Jr. has lifted the writ of amparo granted to former National Bureau of Investigation Director Magtanggol Gatdula.

According to Panfilo, there are no actual threats in the life and security of Gatdula.

Panfilo said the writ of amparo is only applicable to extra judicial killings and enforced dissappearance.

The Supreme Court earlier nullified the writ of amparo granted to Gatdula and directed Judge Pampilo to submit his comment on the matter.

The SC justices said they have found many irregularities in the appreciation of Judge Panfilo in the rules of writ of amparo. (PNA)
