LP reports rally expenses to Comelec

MANILA, Feb. 20 — A total of P1.89 million was spent by the Liberal Party (LP) during their proclamation rally in Plaza Miranda, Manila on February 12, the start of the campaign period for the national positions in the May 13, 2013 midterm polls.

Based on the “Statement of Expenses on Public Rally” submitted before the Comelec 3rd district office the amount covers the staging and production of the rally that started around 4 pm.

Listed in the statement are the payment for Creative Synergy, Inc. of P945,560 for the staging and logistics and another P945,560 for production.

The statement was submitted by LP Treasurer Alfonso Umali, Jr. on February 19, exactly seven days after the proclamation rally in Manila.

The Team Pnoy rally was staged to introduce the party’s 12 senatorial candidates for the upcoming polls.

The LP senatorial bets are: Juan Edgardo Angara (LABAN); Paolo Benigno Aquino IV, Maria Ana Consuelo Madrigal, and Ramon Magsaysay Jr. (LIBERAL PARTY); Alan Peter Cayetano, Antonio Trillanes IV, and Cynthia Villar (NACIONALISTA PARTY); Ana Theresia Hontiveros (AKBAYAN); and Aquilino Martin Pimentel III (PDP- LABAN).
