Construction of the P252.9M Butuan Polysports Complex soon to start

Butuan City, Feb. 15 — Preparation is under way for the construction of the Butuan City Polysports Complex Project after the city government signed a contract with the J.D. Legaspi Construction.

Mayor Ferdinand M. Amante, Jr. signed on behalf of the city government while Mr. Zhilong Lei, the authorized representative of the J.D. Legaspi Construction signed for the construction company.

Mayor Amante told local media practitioners in a press conference shortly following the contract signing that the city’s polysports complex will soon rise mainly at Brgy. Tiniwisan. A portion of the complex however, may soon extend to the neighboring barangay of Ampayon.

He added that the construction of its Phase 1 will include the city gymnasium, the stadium, the football field and a rubberized track oval. The cost of the Phase 1 construction, will amount to more than P252 million.

The construction of the project’s Phase 2 will start after the completion of Phase 1. The second phase construction will comprise of an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a wake-board park and commercial buildings which will include hotels and boutiques. (PNA)
