MANILA, Feb. 13 — Interior Secretary Mar Roxas Wednesday said he will pursue his earlier statement he favors a re-investigation if there will be proof that there was foul play on the death of Dennis Aranas.

Aranas body was found hanging on Feb 5 inside his cell at Quezon District Jail.

He was a self confessed lookout in the murder of broadcaster and environment activist Gerry Ortega in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Roxas told a press conference at Camp Crame that heads will roll and authorities will file criminal case against those found liable for the death of Aranas.

"We're not accepting the first report that it was a suicide and we will pursue the investigation as to the alternative cause of death," Roxas told reporters.

Dr. Alvin David, chief medico-legal who conducted the second autopsy did not categorically claim that the victim died of hanging.

The first autopsy performed by Dr. Antonio Vertido, the Bureau’s medico-legal officer for the Calabarzon region, claimed in his report that Aranas died of asphyxia by hanging but without prior clearance from NBI.(PNA)
