DTI, city govt. hold Dipolog ”Tunug-tugan” trade fair

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Feb 11 — The provincial office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Zamboanga del Norte and the city government of Dipolog are holding a “Tunug-tugan” trade fair at the the newly-constructed commercial center along the city’s boulevard.

The trade fair, which started Feb. 5 and will last until Feb. 23, is part of the celebration of Philippine Arts Festival (PAF) which highlights the “Tunug-tugan,” the first gongs and bamboo festival to be held in Dipolog city on Feb. 16-22.

City Mayor Evelyn T. Uy said the trade fair showcases various products such as the famous bottled-sardines of Dipolog City, handicrafts, fashion accessories, food products, furnitures, pasalubong items among others.

She said a total of 40 exhibitors from Dipolog City and neighboring cities and provinces like Cagayan de Oro City, Cebu City, Davao City, Bukidnon, and Zamboanga Sibugay are joining the trade fair.

During the opening program, Mayor Uy thanked the DTI, the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Dipolog City, the City Tourism Office, the exhibitors and the Dipolognons for their support to making the whole undertaking a reality.

She encouraged the visitors and the buying public to visit the venue and avail of the rare opportunity to buy products from other places as she hoped to conduct the activity yearly. (PNA)
