Bank pledges to construct school building

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb. 11 — The Security Bank Foundation has pledged to construct ten classroom public school building in Cagayan de Oro City under the bank’s ‘Build a School, Build a Nation’ program.

Mel-Vigo Cordova, the bank’s Program Manager, made the pledged during a courtesy call at the office of the city mayor here Monday.

City Mayor Vicente Emano extended his gratitude to the officers and men of the Security Bank for their valuable contribution to Cagayan de Oro City’s growing school population.

The site of the school building has yet to be determined although the city government made preference to construct the school building in addition to public schools here with over populated pupils.

With the rising tuition of private schools, parents had decided to send their children to public schools here.

In Cagayan de Oro City, the city’s public elementary schools has a population of from 6,000 to 12,000 every year with the City Central Elementary School topping the list of almost 12,000 elementary pupils. (PNA)
