MANILA, Feb. 11 — The Supreme Court is set to automate the payroll system of court employees in the provinces.

According to Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez, the release of salaries and benefits of court employees in the provinces is often delayed during the Yuletide, and especially when destructive calamities strike.

Under the old system, the salaries of court employees in the provinces are sent through the post office.

In a four-page circular, Marquez ordered all the Executive Judges of the multi-sala regional trial courts outside the National Capital Region and Municipal Trial Courts in Cities in all judicial regions to implement the automated payroll system.

The APS covers the release of all benefits and allowances of all judges and court employees which are authorized under the General Appropriations Act.

The SC's APS program is undertaken with the assistance of the Land Bank of the Philippines. (PNA)
