MANILA, Dec. 16 — Northeast monsoon will continue to affect northern Luzon while many parts of the country will experience good weather condition, the state weather bureau said on Sunday.

In its advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated brief rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Cagayan Valley will experience cloudy skies with occasional light rains.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the northern and eastern sections of the country. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.

Strong to gale-force winds associated with the surge of the northeast monsoon may affect the seaboards of northern Luzon, it said.

The seaboard of northern Luzon includes Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan, northern coast of Cagayan and northern coast of Ilocos Norte.

"Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," it said. (PNA)
