Bohol registered voters increase

TAGBILARAN CITY, Dec. 15 — The number of registered voters in Bohol recorded a 57,461 increase from 715,785 recorded in 2010 to 778,785 recorded recently,the summary quarterly progress report of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) showed.

The new record also showed 4,887 total number of precincts with 1,354 clustered precincts in a total of 1,066 polling places in 1,109 barangays.

The list of registered voters was purged following a thorough process and hearing conducted by Comelec officers from Manila, Malou Cempron of the provincial office said.

The the list was purged of voters who died 465, who transferred, 2,173; double registrants, five; and double entries, 160. Provincial election Supervisor III Atty. Eliseo R.Z.B. Labaria signed the new list.

Tagbilaran City has the highest number of voters at 51,462 voters, followed by Ubay at 40,211. Talibon followed with 31,928; Carmen, 29,228; Loon, 26,596; Tubigon, 26,591; Inabanga, 26,345; Dauis, 24,797; ug Jagna, 20,643.

The municipality of Sikatuna has the lowest with only 4,760 flowed by Corella, 4,898.
