ILOILO CITY, Dec. 14 — Almost a hundred inmates at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) women dormitory at the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO)celebrated an early Christmas party with members of the Iloilo City Hall Press Corps Friday.

Now on its 13th year, active media practitioners extend yearly Christmas treat to the women inmates as their expression of care and concern to their plight.

Press corps president Joel Franco of RMN 774 said the annual gift-giving project was the media’s institutional commitment to the community by giving joy to the inmates.

Some of the women have been inside the BJMP cells for eight to 10 years now.(PNA)
