TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte, Dec. 11 — The city government here has allocated some P3 million for the repair of houses of residents that were affected by typhoon Pablo last week.

Tagum City Mayor Rey Uy said they need to help those families who suffered in the calamity.

The amount, Uy said, will be used for the acquisition of galvanized iron sheets, woods, nails and other materials for the benefit of 11,040 households that were assessed by the city's Resettlement and Anti-Squatting Task Force.

These households, the mayor said, were categorized as severely damaged or partially damaged and are located in the different barangays in the city.

Meanwhile, the LGU's Christmas party was cancelled and officials instead used the funds for relief assistance to affected areas in Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental that were severely hit by typhoon Pablo.

The city government is still taking care of several injured survivors from New Bataan at the city's Rotary Park gymnasium. (PNA)
