MANILA, Nov. 29 — National Capital Region Police Office Chief Leonardo Espina Thursday ordered the termination of Police Community Precincts commanders in Metro Manila who have not performed satisfactorily against crime.

“I have made my regular rounds of the Districts reviewing performance and talking to all District Directors. I directed to all immediately change, PCP commanders wanting in performance and who have been hit with sensational cases,” said Espina.

Espina emphasized the handling of sensational cases like the massacre of three members of the Chua family in Manila as well as the bloody convenience store robbery that left a security guard dead.

He said they don't need PCP commanders who cannot contribute to their continuing efforts to lower crime rate.

He noted that for September, crime rate fell by 24 percent while last October, it dropped by five percent.

Espina said he sees a new breed of PCP commanders from the new blood in the service like the junior officials who can help the NCRPO in its aim to reduce crime rate this November and December.

“We intend to inject new blood to these areas, break complacency, investigate operational lapses which fall short of what are expected of commanders,” said Espina. (PNA)
