DOJ puts 44 foreigners under inquest proceedings for credit card fraud

MANILA, Nov. 29 — The Department of Justice placed under inquest proceedings on Thursday 44 foreign nationals for alleged involvement in credit card fraud.

The National Bureau of Investigation arrested the foreigners, including Chinese nationals, most of whom are 20 years old, in separate raids conducted in Don Antonio Heights Subdivision and White Plains Subdivision, both in Quezon City, on Nov. 27, 2012.

Seized from the suspects were scheming devices used in the manufacture of fake credit cards.

The suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 8484, or the "Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998." (PNA)
