LEGAZPI CITY, Nov. 2 -– The Climate Change Academy (CCA) based in this city is set to send a team of lecturers to Cebu for the disaster risk reduction management and climate change adaptation (DRRM-CCA) trainings for officials of the Central Visayas region.

In an effort to cut cost on funds of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Albay Gov. Joey Salceda and Academy officials opted to launch a lecture tour than invite participants from Central Visayas to come to this city.

The CCA has been declared as the official training institute for DRRM-CCA for Bicol (Region V), CALABARZON (Region IV-A), MIMAROPA (Region IV-B), and the Western (Region VI), Central (Region VII) and eastern (Region VIII) Visayas.

The entire lecture and training team is less in number than the expected 40 participants from Cebu that Salceda said it would be cheaper on the part of OCD to send CCA lecturers instead.

To further cut costs, the DRRM-CCA training in Cebu shall be compacted in one-week.(PNA)
