MANILA, Nov. 2 – San Julian town in Eastern Samar was declared this week as "manageable conflict-affected and development ready" by the 801st Infantry Brigade, a sub-unit of the 8th Infantry Division and town officials.

The joint declaration was signed by San Julian Mayor George Erroba and 801st Infantry Brigade commander Col. Romeo Labrador as well as other community officials.

The situation refers to the relative stability and lack of security threats in the locality, making it ideal for investment and other development works.

"With this declaration, more investors will be encouraged to establish their business in our locality,” Erroba stressed.

Labrador said this distinction is long overdue as the security situation in the town is much improved.

“To me, this is long overdue, the security situation in San Julian nowadays is far better than it was before, which only shows the readiness of the municipality to be declared as manageable conflict-affected and ready for development," he pointed out. (PNA)
