3 big job fairs slated this month in Pangasinan

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Oct. 3 — Job opportunities here and abroad await qualified Pangasinan residents in the three big job fairs slated by the Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO) this October.

The job fairs on October 8, 15 and 16 in western, central and eastern Pangasinan are in conjunction with the current observance of the National Statistics Month.

PESO Chief Alex F. Ferrer said the scheduled fair on October 8 will be held at SM City Rosales, followed by the Oct. 15 job fair at the Golden West College in Alaminos City and the Oct. 16 fair at Robinson’s Place in Calasiao.

According to Ferrer, these job fairs will offer greater employment opportunities to Pangasinenses seeking work locally and abroad.

The PESO Chief said in these job fairs, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company will hire around 1,000 workers and will not require any placement fee.

Ferrer said the jobs include 700 gas sales attendants (gas boys and forecourt attendants) and 300 convenience store attendants (merchandisers, salesmen, sales staff or cashiers).

He said applicants must be between 21 and 35 years old, at least high school graduate or with college education background, can read, write and speak English, and must possess at least two years relative work experience and knowledge in computer and operation of POS (Point of Sale)..

Salary package awaiting the lucky applicants include basic salary plus allowances, two-year renewable contract on mutual agreement, eight working hours per shift daily (six days a week), 30 days annual leave, and free air ticket every two years. (PNA)
