Only two candidates file their CoCs in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY, Oct. 01 — Only two candidates in separate congressional districts have filed their Certificates of Candidacy (CoCs)with the Commission on Elections in Albay on Monday.

First to file his CoC was the Pioduran Mayor Dante Arandia, who is in his last term, and running as independent candidate as representative of Albay’s 3rd District.

Second to file was Provincial Board Member Ricky Ziga, running for the congressional post representing the first District of Albay. Ziga, who is running under the banner of the United Nationalist Alliance(UNA)is the eldest son of former Senator Victor San Andres Ziga.

When asked why there were only few that filed their CoCs,Lawyer Romeo Serrano,Comelec provincial supervisor said it is a normal thing for candidates to have a wait-and-see attitude.

Serrano said candidates will be trooping the office by the third day of the filing process and until 5 p.m. on Friday, the last day of filing.(PNA)
