MANILA, July 18 –Twenty three bus companies have fixed the wages for their drivers and conductors in compliance with Department Order 118-12 of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

DOLE already issued Labor Standards Compliance Certificates (LSCC) to the 23 companies which operate 1,507 buses in their fleet, involving 1,913 drivers and 1,591 conductors.

"Many more bus firms are undergoing voluntary compliance and we issue the LSCCs the moment a bus company completes the simple process," said Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said.

Baldoz said the DOLE continued to conduct inspection of bus companies to assess their compliance with the order and to provide them technical assistance on how to comply.

For bus companies not yet inspected, the DOLE will conduct an inspection to check their compliance with the order and validate the re-entry plans and their implementation.

Baldoz said she had directed National Capital Region director Allan Macaraya to expedite the issuance of LSCCs to bus companies.
