MANILA, July 5 –- Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Kim S. Jacinto-Henares on Thursday warned "fugitive tax evader" Gloria Kintanar that her name will be included in the "wanted list" if she does not surface Thursday or Friday.

In a press conference at the Department of Justice (DOJ), Henares said she will be compelled to cause the publication in newspapers that Kintanar is a "wanted" person if she fails to appear in the soonest possible time. <P>Kintanar, a multilevel marketer of health products, was found guilty by the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) of evading P6.3 million in taxes and was ordered to serve a four-year jail sentence.

According to Henares, Kintanar is just exacerbating her predicament with her continued escape from justice.

Meanwhile, Kintanar lawyers Salvador Quebral and Gil Valera may face disbarment or contempt charges after they perjured themselves when they told the CTA that Kintanar cannot appear in court for the "service of sentence" last Tuesday (July 3) because her illness was "life threatening" and that she was confined at the Velasco Hospital in Silang, Cavite.

But when the warrant was to be served for her "hospital arrest," the CTA sheriff and BIR representative did not see Kintanar in the hospital last Tuesday afternoon

It was learned that Kintanar left the hospital at 7 a.m. Tuesday. (PNA)
