Singapore stocks close 1.19 % higher

SINGAPORE, July 3 — Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 34.74 points, or 1.19 percent, to close at 2,945.33.

A total of 1.5 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 26 billion Singapore dollars (1 billion U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered losers 227 to 128, while 437 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 32.14 points, or 1.12 percent, to close at 2,910.59 on Monday. (PNA/Xinhua)
