PNP Chief alerts all units for disaster response as heavy rains batter Metro Manila, nearby provinces

MANILA, July 3 – Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Nicanor Bartolome has ordered the mobilization of the command's resources and personnel for possible disaster rescue and response operations as heavy rains brought by an active low pressure area continue to batter Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

As this develop, the PNP chief also alerted the regional directors of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and Police Regional Office-4, which is responsible for securing Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces, to deploy equipment and personnel to flooded areas in order to evacuate affected residents to safer grounds.

Along with this, the PNP chief also directed all police districts and Camp Crame-based units to assist stranded motorists in flooded areas of the Metropolis where classes and work were suspended on Tuesday.(PNA) /CTB/PFN
