MANILA, June 10 — The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Sunday it expects rains in Northern Luzon due to southwest monsoon.

Connie Dadivas, weather forecaster, said there’s no any weather disturbance or potential cyclone in the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) but the southwest monsoon is presently affecting Northern Luzon and may bring rains.

Dadivas said Metro Manila, Mindanao and the Visayas area will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

The temperature range for Metro Manila on Sunday will be between 25 and 33 degrees Celsius, she added.

In its advisory, PAGASA said Northern Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA also said moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Meanwhile, PAGASA's extended weather outlook indicated rain showers and thunderstorms on June 12, Independence Day. (PNA) DCT/CLTC
