5.9-magnitude quake jolts Kazakhstan

BEIJING, May 31 — An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale hit Kazakhstan at 5:20 a.m. Thursday(Beijing Time), the China Earthquake Networks Center announced.

The epicenter, with a depth of eight kilometers, was located at 43.5 degrees north latitude and 78.8 degrees east longitude. (PNA/Xinhua)
