Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala (left) and New Zealand Ambassador to the Philippines Reuben Levermore share a light moment during the latter’s courtesy call at the Department of Agriculture Central Office in Quezon City. The two officials discussed ways to further expand agricultural trade between the two countries. The Philippines exports bananas and other tropical fruits to New Zealand, and imports mainly milk, cream and dairy products from the southwest Pacific country. During the visit, Secretary Alcala also thanked Ambassador Levermore for his country’s continuing official development assistance to the Philippines, particularly in the field of agriculture.
