MANILA, April 19 — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced on Thursday the arrest of three of the suspects in the killing of three security escorts of Banco Filipino owner Bobby Aguirre last April 7 in Las Pinas City.

NCRPO Director Alan Purisima identified those arrested as John Mitz Jose, 19, a truck helper at RCS Logistics Philippines; Allan Penafuerte, 30, a mechanic; and Gerald Reyes. They were arrested in separate police operations in Las Piñas and Parañaque City.

Purisima said that robbery was the main motive behind the killing of Aguirre’s security escorts — David Manguera, retired Senior Police Officer 2 Melvin Padaca, and Police Officer 3 Luisito Macatunao.

Investigation revealed that 15 suspects on board two private vehicles, a taxicab, and a scooter went to the Aguirre compound on the night of April 7 to try to rob his residence in BF Homes.

Police have filed three counts of murder against the suspects at the Las Piñas City Prosecutor's Office. Meanwhile, Penafuerte, who was in possession of a caliber .38 revolver and illegal drugs when arrested, was also charged with illegal possession of firearms and violation of the Anti-Drugs Act.
