Minimum wage earners in C. Mindanao to get increase

MANILA, April 18 — Minimum wage earners in Central Mindanao will have an increase of P15.00 in their basic pay in the form of Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) integration and an additional COLA of P6.00-P10.00 in their daily wage rate starting today.

Under Wage Order RBXII-17, the increase sets the minimum wage level in the region from P234.00-P260.00 to P240.00-P270.00.

On the other hand, workers belonging in the agriculture and retail/service sectors will gain an additional COLA of P4.00-P6.00, which takes effect Dec. 1, 2012.

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board for Region 12 (RTWPB XII) has reviewed the current wage rates in the region, one year after the previous issuance had taken effect.

The wage rates prescribed under the order applies to all minimum wage employees in the private sector of Region 12, which is composed of the provinces and cities of South Cotabato, Cotabato, Koronadal, Sarangani, and General Santos City. (PNA)
